FTTU - Fiber to the User
VCI's FTTU service provides telephone and internet service to Paducah area businesses. This service requires a device called an ONT be installed inside the customer's site. The ONT installation is performed by VCI. The ONT requires a small uninterruptable power supply (UPS) be installed as well. This ensures the telephone and internet service continue to function during a power outage.Internet service is obtained from the ONT via an ethernet interface. In most cases the ethernet interface will be connected to the customer's router. VCI will perform this step of the installation as well. |
